Neither am I a 'kavi' nor am I a 'shayar', but for the sake of killing time I do write sometimes. Of all the stuff written by me till date, I would love to start my world of blogging by writing this small poem. It was written for a close friend on her birthday. I am sure people will find it funny enough, but kindly bear with it.
janamdin janamdin janamdin,
kya hai yeh janamdin.
Kangaali ka karan hai janamdin,
Budhaape ki nishani hai janamdin.
Aata to hai saal main ek baar,
Par yaad aata hai baar baar.
Janamdin ke tohfe ke khwaab to khwaab hi reh jate hain,
Aur kambakhat dost daawat hi maangte jaate hain.
Anjaan bhi jaan ne pehchaan ne lagte hain,
Aur mubarakbaad se pehle daawat maangne lagte hain.
Jitne saal ke hote hain, utni baar uchhale jaate hain,
Aur maze ki baat to dekho, muft ka jhula jhul jaate hain.

sahi hai bidu..nice start..now write some heavy stuff..so it will an amalgamation of the serious and the hilarious..mayawati is a good topic..since more than a week she has taken up all the editorial space in the newspapers..and its your state..you have right to say smthing boy..so do it.

But "Janamdin" is a seriously funny poem which rings so true. no one could find better words to describe probably most people's state of mind on their "janamdin". Very amusing. Keep up the good work, dude!
